About Us

Here to Help You Heal

Why It Takes Audacity To Heal

We often hear clients longing for validation from the people who have harmed them.

They feel they cannot heal until they get an apology and acknowledgement from those people.  It’s in these situations we reflect to clients: “Why are you holding your healing hostage? We need audacity to take power back for ourselves in order to heal from the pain that has been caused.”

Audacity is the rejection of the restraints of the “shoulds” that have been imposed on us.  It is the choice to live authentically without requiring others’ approval.

Why We Practice Sex Therapy

This is a common question we hear and has much to do with our founder’s background and experiences.

Ultimately, it started with a curiosity about why sex & sexuality are controlled, and how that affects people in adulthood. The more Rachel learned, the more she became aware of how our emotions & histories are alive in our bodies, and are closely connected with our sexual experiences.

The Audacity to Heal’s sex therapy approach addresses each aspect of present and past identities, and the body’s interaction with the individual’s worldview.  We also address the ways in which we interact and relate to each other and our partners.

Practice Overview

At The Audacity to Heal, we’re here to help you tap into your strengths and make thoughtful, intentional choices to create the life you want. We offer convenient HIPPA-compliant virtual therapy sessions so you can easily attend — no matter what life throws at you. Our therapists offer a trauma-informed, holistic approach to therapy based on our strength – sex therapy – to both individuals, couples, and non-traditional groups.

Our Modalities

Rooted in psychotherapy and education, we at The Audacity to Heal take an existential approach to mental health, inviting you to explore new possibilities. We offer an eclectic blend of evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while maintaining trauma-informed care and somatic approaches. Some of our therapists are also training in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy.  Together, we’ll reflect on what truly matters to you, helping you feel more secure and empowered as you navigate life’s ups and downs.

The Experience

You’ll find a welcoming space to ask the big questions, share unspoken parts of your story, voice your fears, explore and achieve goals, express and process your emotions and experiences, as well as realize new possibilities and your full potential. Whether you’re struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, neurodiversity or have noticed issues within your relationships, our top-notch therapists are ready to work with you, meeting you where you’re at in a safe and compassionate atmosphere.

In this judgement-free zone, you’ll experience a journey of exploration, learning, healing, and genuine care.

Who We Are

Rachel Klechevsky, the founder of The Audacity to Heal, is a New York-based mental health professional with a specialty in sex and relationship therapy. She received a Master’s in Social Work at NYU and a Master’s in Human Sexuality Education and Therapy at Widener University. Rachel approaches mental health from an existential lens, where there is room to question what is important to us as individuals and how to make the decisions that enhance authenticity.

Throughout her 15 year career, she has focused on many aspects of sexuality with a primary interest in alternative relationships (relationship anarchy, nonmonogamy, polyamory, co-parenting, blended families, chosen families, intentional communities, etc.), LGBTQIA+ and sexual dysfunction.

Rachel continues to engage with developing therapists and the public as an educator, mentor, advisor, and subject matter expert in the media.
